Sattu is a flour made from roasted Bengal gram/chana dal. It is used extensively in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Sattu is used for making dough balls called 'litti', parathas, upma, porridge and even a sharbat. It is a high source of insoluble fiber, protein, iron, manganese, magnesium and calcium.
